Ushering Filipino Performing Artists to the Global Stage

Ushering Filipino Performing

Artists to the Global Stage

About

The Foundation, Recognizing the illustrious talent of the Filipino in various aspects of the performing arts, Founding Chairman Dr. Andrew L. Tan envisioned a roadmap that will further elevate Filipino entertainment to its rightful place on a global scale.

Thus, the Original Pilipino Performing Arts (OPPA) Foundation was born. Aiming to institutionalize efforts in the advancement of Philippine performing arts, OPPA lends budding artists a hand by way of scholarship grants in their respective fields—be it production design, dance, voice, scriptwriting, acting, among others.

During its launch last November 10, 2015, the foundation was able to solicit the support of partner schools which will follow a three-pillar plan that involves awarding academic assistance, production sponsorships, and international exchange programs for chosen beneficiaries.

With the renewed interest in local performing arts, OPPA is ready to embrace its role in promoting the performing arts through close collaboration with the academe and industry.

Elevating the performing arts industry to world-class standards is a challenge that produces the ultimate reward. After pointing the way to the destination, Founding Chairman Dr. Andrew L. Tan must steer the ship towards that goal. To achieve this, the foundation has been entrusted to the hands of capable individuals that represent sectors with a vested interest in its success. Benefactors, producers, directors, and more importantly the artists themselves all share the responsibility of making sure that the foundation leaves a lasting legacy.
